CAMP HILL (Oct. 28) - Congratulations to October's Winners: Eric Sherbocker - Heavyweight Division, Krey Kibler - Middleweight Division, Chloe Donovan - Middleweight Runner-Up, Joshua Peterson - Lightweight Division, and Ben Passmore - Lightweight Runner-Up. The next In-School Tournament is scheduled Friday October 28th @ 5:10pm.

BATTLE OF BALTIMORE TOURNAMENT
Baltimore (Oct 16) Six off-season WSAMA competitors trekked to Baltimore and took names! There were 800 fellow competitors at the Battle of Baltimore and of the 15 events competed in, Lion Force took 13 places, Including seven 1st Place Belts (yes, I said belts), one 2nd Place and four 3rd Place trophies. OCTOBER
AND WSAMA'S DEMO TEAM MEANS FESTIVALS
ENOLA (Oct 8) WSAMA's Demo Team, Team Lion Force, were prepared. After some disappointment from having their performance at Silver Spring's Fall Festival canceled due to the venue being flooded, they rebounded. Pennsboro's Pumpkinfest in Enola was their best show to date! Nine routines by the Jr. and Sr. Teams wowed the audience from what was described by a Pumpkinfest official as one of their biggest crowds ever! Kudos to the hard work the team put in for their audience's entertainment!

SELF DEFENSE
CAMP HILL (Sept 27) - Master Vergara and a group of assistant instructors recently conducted a self-defense workshop for Girl Scout Cadet Troop #657. Though the physical techniques of protecting yourself were of high interest to the participants, much emphasis was also placed on non-confrontational tactics of "avoidance and prevention" as well as "personal awareness" and trusting your instincts.

Twin Towers Classic (New York, NY) and Warrior Challenge (York, PA)
(Sept 17) Congratulations to Team Lion Force members for outstanding performances this weekend. The Central PA Warrior Challenge XIII earned 8 Lion Force competitors 15 First Places and 7 Second Place finishes. NASKA's Twin Towers Classic yielded its 3 Lion Force members 2 Second Places, 1 Third Place, and 4 Finalist Awards in this international competition. ADULTS CLASS PROMOTION
WSAMA's Adults Class Color Belt Promotion is scheduled for Saturday September 10th @ 10am. All promotion forms and paperwork should be submitted by Wednesday September 7th. Reminder: testing students should be in full uniform (i.e. gi jacket and pants with all patches and lettering).

BREATH OF NATURE TOURNAMENT
HARRISBURG (Sept 3) Congratulations to Team Lion Force members for an outstanding showing at their last regular season tournament of the year! Nineteen team members secured 48 wins including: 22 First Places, 15 Second Places, 9 Third Places, and 2 Fourth Places. Special Congrats to Deanna Vergara who won the Grand Championship in Forms, and Jessica Vergara winning the Grand Championship in Weapons. Also noteworthy are two members, Liam Farrell and Rina Shokes, who won first place in all three events they competed in! Click here for detailed results!

U.S. Capitol Classics
NATIONAL HARBOR, MD (Aug 5&6) Congratulations to Team Lion Force members for solid performances at this national NASKA sanctioned tournament! Pitted against the best sport karate athletes in the country, with some divisions with as many as 20+ competitors, team members secured 8 places including: 1 First Place, 1 Second, 5 Thirds, 1 Fourth, and 24 Finalists! HARRISBURG (July 30) Congratulations to Team Lion Force members for their successful performance at this year's Games. The team won 42 medals, including 20 Gold medals, 12 Silver medals, and 10 Bronze medals! Click here for detailed results.

SUMMER
KARATE CAMPS
WSAMA will be hosting this year's June Karate Camp June 27 to July 1, and July's Karate Camp July 25 to July 29. The camp runs from 9am to 12pm. Activities include martial arts, arts and crafts, games of friendly competition, and a demonstration performance by the campers at the end of the week for family and friends! Space is limited but still available on a first-come basis.
