2004
Summer Clinic
Day 1
Participants went through a martial arts class focusing on review of material for their upcoming promotions, developing skills for speed and quickness, and emphasizing teamwork. They learned Modern Arnis form Anyo Isa and the application of the techniques found in this form. Students finished the day with healthy competition of dodge ball and a jump rope contest!

Day 2
Tuesday's camp focused on fighting techniques and sparring skills. We started organizing and planning the demonstration the kids will be performing for the parents and family on Friday. Campers started their crafts today with frame painting. The frames will be used for the group picture they get at the end of the clinic. Kids had fun playing a game of crab walk soccer! Today's contest was how many push-ups you could do in one minute. The winner did 77!

Day 3
Wednesday's camp focused on Hapkido and grappling skills. Participants were introduced to circuit training. Though it was very demanding, the kids seemed to really enjoy it. We continued to practice for the demo on Friday and things are coming around slowing but surely. Children signed 30+ T-Shirts as part of their crafts activity. The kids played four-square to develop hand-eye-footwork coordination and also had a squat/push-up contest.
Day 4
Thursday's camp focused on jumping, jumping kicks and footwork skills and drills. Students also reviewed their forms for their next rank. Everyone had a chance to work on fight skits which turned out to be not only beneficial, but also entertaining. We continued to practice in detail for the demo tomorrow. Campers finished their crafts of "foot" painting their T-Shirts. By popular demand, we ended the day with another dose of dodge ball!
Day 5
Surprise! Friday's class during the first hour and a half was the kids' promotion test. Because they didn't expect it, there was no usual nervousness associated with testing, and the participants as a whole did a great job! The rest of the time was spent on practicing for the demonstration which came together with success. We hope all the children had a fun and memorable week. The staff and I want to thank all the parents for the opportunity of working with your children, and we look forward to next year!
